Hulk Mining Character, Random Skills

I trained up the skills for the Pilgrim but haven't used it. I do everything retarded in this game. I've been actually playing the game the last few days, doing some assorted missions for Theology Council and for the Carthan Conglomerate. I did some missions with them yesterday, just grinding up their standing but in order to do research for them, I'd need a lot of training time. Basically, everything I'm doing is backward. I bought a Pilgrim and Apocalypse but don't really have great skills for Apocalypse. Been training some gun skills the last few days and I would eventually want to be able to use Mega Pulse Laser 2 but that is like a month of training time.

I've been looking on the eveboards for a character and was originally going to buy a Caldari pve/pvp character but I decided to buy a Hulk character. He has just under 5 million sp and I should have him today. I got a decent deal on him and the guy sold me his Hulk as well. I hope to start mining tonight and see if I like it at all. I was going to put the new character on my account but I decided to buy a new account through the buddy program. For the extra five dollars, I should be able to give the mining character almost 3 million sp in the 51 days of game time I get. Plus, I've been credited the free month of game time so my main account has more than 80 days on it and the secondary account has 51 days. I'm going to see how much I like the mining and if I don't like it, I can always sell the second character for some kind of profit, while training essential skills to get him into an Orca. My plan with my main is:

Small Pulse Laser Specialization 1-3 (finished)
Motion Prediction 4 (just finished)
Controlled Bursts 4
Small Pulse Laser Specialization 4
Medium Pulse Laser Specialization 1-2

From this point, I can get those engineering skills I so badly need or go into the Medium Pulse Laser Specialization to 4, or Large Energy Turrets, which I'm probably going to get first. So many skills to train, so little time.

Mining Character Plan:

This guy has Mining Drones to level 5 but only has Drones 3. My immediate plans with him are:

Drones 5
Drone Interfacing 4
Electronics 5
Engineering 5

This is all depending upon how this character plays. Drones are a definite but we'll see how badly his cap does and if so, get the electronic skills first. Lets see how much I like mining and how much of this can be done afk. I was also thinking of taking this character along the industry root, getting the essential skills for building ships or maybe even the datacore route with science, grouping him with the main to do level threes to skill up quickly. These are all possibilities.

Eve

I'm 3 hours away from flying the Pilgrim! I was playing around with the game for a while the other night but there seemed like there was nothing to really do. Just too much of a pain to fly around, find an anomaly and then have to get the battlecruiser which could be more than 5 jumps away. Pain in the ass. I was trying to scan down anomalies, wound up just going into a wormhole to see how I could make out. I tried to solo the easiest one and couldn't do it. My cap kept running out. I had some more luck when I was using the drones but I warped out before getting them back in my ship and I was limited on their numbers. The sleepers were targeting and killing them anyway. I think if I got the ship fit the right way I could do much better. Using the tech 2 weapons, tech 2 ammo, tech 2 drones and use the extra 2 turret slots for Large guns instead of the small I was running now. I really do have to try it with that optimized fitting. Here's the training plan:

Covert Ops 4 (3 hours)
Recon Ships 1&2
Drone Interfacing 3
Amarr Battleship 1&2
Energy Upgrades
Energy Systems Upgrades

I really have to get the cap skills up as I could have done better if I would have had the extra 10 percent in cap skills. That's about two weeks of training time :(. Still have a lot of training to do before I see some kind of increase in the character's skills. All this training time and none of the skills really effect how he performs in combat. But I do have some ship options now. We'll see what happens with everything. I wouldn't mind getting the Battleship skills OK so I could run level 4 missions. There's supposed to be good money in those. Anything where I can make a boatload of money. We'll see what happens. I'm about to buy the GTC and convert it to ISK. This will give me the cushion I need to buy some new ships (Battleships!), fit everything the right way and maybe even pvp some. It takes money to make money.

New Vegas

Been playing New Vegas quite a lot the last few days. It's a fun game, the stories are interesting and I'm having fun with it. The use of the companions may make it a bit too easy but I can dismiss them at any time if I feel like it. It's one of the rare games where I just want to explore to see everything I can. I don't want to miss anything. Maybe I'll give Fallout 3 a try sometime after I'm done with this one. All depends on how I feel at that point. Got kind of pissed off with the Vault 34 mission last night. Was stuck in there for hours, trying to figure it out. Too much of a maze and looked it up online.

Eve

Went into space for a bit tonight for the first time in months! Ran a random cosmic anomaly. I actually only need a few more days until I can get myself into a legion. I don't know what route I want to go with the game but I'm definitely going to aim for the pilgrim and go from there. Maybe upgrade the gunnery skills more after that. There are still quite a bit of skills that I can upgrade to make the character more effective overall. Going to start exploring this week and go into low sec and play around there. What is there to lose? Maybe even try planetary interaction, see how that works out. I might just buy a GTC to get isk so I don't have to grind. Another option would be to train the battleships and go that route and try to get level 4 missions and try to make money that way. I definitely do want to make some isk and might finally try to get into a corp. My goal is just to try out the different ships, become effective in at least flying a couple of them. Becoming a pirate would definitely be interesting or join a ratting corp or something similar.

Training Plan:

Signature Analysis 5 (3 days left)
Cov Ops 4

PILGRIM TIME!!!!

Drone Interfacing 4

After that it's up in the air. Perhaps Small Energy Laser Spec to 4 so I can get Medium Energy Laser Spec but I have to train sharpshooter up to 5 and that will take a while. At least the character is looking more rounded out that I've payed for him for the few months.

I tried that Somer Blink lottery and won the first lottery I ever tried with the promotion credit for signing up. Put 50 million isk into the game, won 25 and then lost the rest so I only came out 15 down. I can see how that game can get crazy addictive quickly.

Been wanting to play around with LOTRO and since Jeremy has been playing, I might toy around with chris's character since he is the 30's and should be kind of fun to play with by that point.

Beat Mass Effect 2 over the weekend. Played a marathon session on Saturday because there wasn't much to do. The game turned out to be pretty fun, was actually kind of shocked at some of the people that died in the end of the game because I didn't upgrade my ship. I assumed that not upgrading would have some kind of effect like it did but I didn't feel like scanning the rest of those planets to get the minerals I needed. I started playing Fallout: New Vegas and am having some fun with it. I was watching the final fight tournament this weekend and was super excited about buying mvc3 but i didn't like it much after playing it with chris. It just wasn't as fun as I expected.

World of Warcraft

My WoW subscription has phased and I'm not resubbing for a few weeks at least. Was having fun with arena but the game just isn't worth it right now. I hate trying to find someone to play with, especially someone with no patience. I just want to do arena for fun, it's the only aspect of that game that I like. The rated bgs aren't too bad and I wouldn't have minded doing them on the mage. But I don't want to keep spending on that game for that. I was just about fully pvp geared on the mage too. I only had like 1 or 2 pieces left to get. Jeremy got so upset when I told him the subscription was done. He started crying real tears and he gave me his piggy bank to pay for it. He even offered me all his toys. I'm going to download Runes of Magic for him, which he can have some fun on because he says Wizard 101 is too boring.

Eve

Finished training Cruisers 5 and I'm almost ready to play the game again. I'm training the last few skills I need to operate the Pilgrim which are:

Covert Ops 4
Spaceship Command 5
Signature Analysis 5

Which looks to be about 7 more days of training time. The ship itself costs about 120 million isk so I might go out and by myself a gametime card and convert it to plex so I don't have to worry about grinding out the money. Or maybe not. Just being able to do that takes some of the fun out of the game. I do want to be able to go into low sec and explore and we'll see how that works out. I would hate to get ganked and lose absolutely everything that I owned. But so it goes sometimes. I hope when I finally do play that my guy seems a lot stronger than he did otherwise. I can't forget that DED complex that I spent a lot of time grinding out, only to have someone else come in and reap all my treasures. It was a real kick in the teeth.

Starcraft 2

Been almost obsessive with this game for the last few days. I've been watching coverage on jtv quite a bit. There are some really strong players on there and I've been trying to learn about the game. So far, I've only played two ladder matches and lost both of them but have played a bunch of games vs the computer. Once I can start winning consistently against the computer on hard, maybe I'll start to ladder. But I think I may start to ladder more anyway, just to have the human element to it. I didn't enjoy the single player much at all when I first started it but I have to say that I'm having fun with it right now. Been trying to complete each level with at least 2 achievements. I am still playing the game on Medium but I might try to bump it up to hard for a second play or at least work on some of the levels on that difficulty.

Other Games:

Been wanting to play games with Chris but he hasn't really called me about them. When I hurt my wrist, I killed my mobility for SF4 so I haven't played that much. Killzone is good that you can get on for a few minutes and get off whenever the mood hits. Started up Mass Effect 2 on a whim. I thought that was the greatest game ever a few weeks ago then just stopped playing. Tried to play again a few weeks ago and it just bored me. But I'm having fun with it now. Going to try to beat it this weekend. Trying to do all the side missions just to see everything the game has to offer. I think I'm pretty much near the end of it or at least 75% through. I downloaded New Vegas to the computer and I might toy around with that after I'm done with ME2. Guess it just depends on what kind of mood i'm in.

Hit 85 on the mage. Was grinding out the Rogue for a few days and hit 71 with him. It's so fucking boring. Had nothing better to do. Was playing 2s with the mage for a while. Got bored of it. He doesn't know how to cc and I really need him to. I think 3s with his Ret friend is kind of interesting and fun. But the 2s got annoying after a while.

Actually played 2s with the mage last night and he's starting to learn how to cc. He's throwing sheeps around, actually saving me from dying instantly from rogues. It's a nice change of pace. I don't think he uses the freeze from his pet. I'm almost geared out on the mage. I've been letting Jeremy grind out the BGS and Tol Barad for me. Also been grinding out the druid a bit on tol barad. Just hitting that up for the easy honor.

I decided to resub for eve for the three months. I'm eight days away from Cruiser 5. I actually put the game on for a few minutes yesterday. Just to get some skills and inject them into my skillbook. But I actually went into space and made one jump!!! I think I may log on sometime soon for some exploration or possibly some gameplay. I want to join a corp and I think I may do the one that advertised on the podcast. Too many games to play at the moment. Bought Killzone 3 and am having fun with it. I didn't even like the beta but I bought it anyway. 40 bucks is essentially forty dollars. We spend almost that much at Old Country Buffet. Decided to get back into SF4 and haven't played that much. Been considering getting MvC3 but I can't justify it right now. Loading the patches for Starcraft and going to give that a try again. Might as well play all these stupid games that I bought. NOthing else to do. Wasting life away on video games
